I’m a Clean Freak… temporarily
Monday, January 19, 2009 by Angie.
After coming back home from our Christmas vacation, I have been miraculously moved to do some deep cleaning. After 3 weekends of vigorous scrubbing, I am running out of things to clean. The floors are clean enough to EAT off; the kitchen is flawless; the bathrooms are pristine. Yesterday I even washed and IRONED my shower curtains. The thought even crossed my mind to iron my bedsheets, but sanity stepped in just in time.
With a hankering to clean and nothing left to scrub, I got bored. So, I took every last scrap of anything-that-didn’t-belong from my kitchen, took pictures, and posted it on HGTV’s Rate My Space website. Now after reading the comments, I’m itching to add cabinetry or a soffit above the existing ones…

Joke of the Day…
Monday, January 19, 2009 by Angie.
A man was laying in bed with his new girlfriend.
After having great sex, she spent the next hour just scratching his nuts– something she seemed to love to do.
As he was enjoying it, he turned and asked her, ‘Why do you love doing that?’
‘Because,’ she replied, ‘I really miss mine.’

Christmas Gifts
Monday, January 5, 2009 by Angie.
I now have 6 place settings for the dining room table. Here’s a pic of the set-up on my in-law’s table and mine. I love it!! The bowls are cast from gourds; they have a rough exterior and none them are perfectly round. The reactive glaze on the interior is unique for each bowl.
The salad plates are sculpted by potters in a renowned ceramics studio located just outside of Lisbon. They are cast from a handmade mold, then painted with a thick glaze. Upon firing, tiny pieces of espresso-colored glass melt into a pattern of organic forms, making each piece unique.
The dinner plates came from Pier 1 (Sanctuary series), as well as the placemats.

Stealth is Finished!
Sunday, October 26, 2008 by Angie.
We were in the garage until 2:45 AM finishing up. Everything works! We took it for a test drive at 3 am (he he), dialed in 10 psi on the electronic boost controller and drooled over how well everything came together. I finally got to sleep around 3:30, so I’m a little tired today (which is reflected in my general crabiness). The good news is that I’ve put about 40 miles on the car since last night, and I’ve been loving every minute of it. Pictures coming soon….

Putting Gauges in Stealth = PITA
Saturday, October 25, 2008 by Angie.
Jerry and I have been working pretty much all day getting these damned gauges installed. We have all the wiring completed for the gauges and the electronic boost controller; my fingers are crossed that we wired everything correctly. If we didn’t it’s going to be a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS to take everything out and do this over again. Oh, did I mention that we can’t really test them until we have the car completely buttoned back up? The brand, Prosport, has a bit of a bad rap for gauges being DOA - but I can’t really determine if this is user error or not.
While we have pretty much the whole interior gutted, I replaced the cracked defroster vents and the old, rotting foam pieces stuffed inside the dash (that prevent rattles). Consequently, I have glue all over my fingers. Ick. I also chipped a nail earlier today.
We just got the dash back into the car, which means it’s hanging on its mounting pegs and not bolted down. Guts are still everywhere, and the middle console doesn’t go back in until the end.
It’s time for a break and dinner.
FYI, “we” = 80% Jerry, 20% Angie
I just want to drive this thing!

To Further Punctuate My POINT
Tuesday, October 21, 2008 by Angie.
Go figure, as soon as I start drooling over the taller celebs, Best Week Ever decides to point out the shorties! I couldn’t agree more wholeheartedly. And yes, Tom Cruise does make poor Katie look like a freak of nature.

Weight Loss Update
Sunday, October 19, 2008 by Angie.
10 lbs since Singapore. 8-) I have about 25-30 lbs left to go if I don’t lose any muscle. If I don’t lose any, I’m going to be scary looking - like a freakin’ Amercian Gladiator! Not exactly what I have in mind for me; I guess time will tell how my body reacts.
“Venom” (Beth Horn), 5′8″, 142 lbs. I’m guessing silicon doesn’t weigh much.

Real Men
Saturday, October 18, 2008 by Angie.
I’m sick of being around skinny ass, scrawny little men! What is it with engineers? Why do they have to be so diminutive? I’m 5′8″, which is a little taller than average, but I should by NO MEANS be taller than half of my male coworkers! GAH! Even my husband is shorter than me. That does it. I’m telling the world what a real man should look like. Ready?
1) Vin Diesel. 6′0, 200 lbs
This picture really says it all. Damn, damn, damn. Looks yummy doesn’t he? I just want to rub that tummy and make a wish!

2) Bruce Willis 5′ 11¾”
Bruce is getting a little older now, but look at him! Wow!

3) David Morse, 6′4″, Huge Laurie 6′2½”
Two more great examples of how tall real men should be!

4) Wentworth Miller, 6′1″
OK, so he could stand to have a bit more muscle on him. But let’s give the guy due credit; he graduated from Princeton University. Smart = sexy x 10. I also think someone needs to help him take those pants the rest of the way off!

5) Brad Pitt, 5′11″
Here he is with Angelina Jolie, who is the same height as me at 5′8″. Need I say more? And he’s not even 6′ tall!

6) James Gandolfini, 6′0½”
What? You think it’s a coincidence that James got to play Tony Soprano and that’s the reason he’s got that hot chick on his lap? Think again! This guy oozes sexiness - probably because of all that power he portrays in The Sopranos. This guy is all man; nothing scrawny or wimpy about him! And yet again, here’s a guy that breaks the 6′ barrier that very few of my male acquaintances around here can reach!

I think we should start selectively breeding people to be taller. Everyone guy I grew up with was taller than me; why isn’t it like that in the rest of the country? Where did all these short people come from? GRRRRRRRRR

Out of the doldrums
Saturday, September 27, 2008 by Angie.
Since Kelly’s wedding I have been lax about the weight loss thing. I mean, I lost 25 lbs before her wedding, looked killer in the bridesmaid dress (I am mostly joking), and then pretty much was done for a while. I have maintained the 25 lb loss for about 3 months, but it’s time to get back to work. I lost a lot of my appetite while in Singapore and subsequently lost about 2 lbs while I was there. Plus, seeing all those skinny, beautiful asian women was a real wake up call that I am still a fat ass! Jerry and I have been hitting the gym this week; I have been eating well again. Results: about 4 lbs since pre-Singapore. :-) I’m about halfway to my goal if I don’t lose any muscle.
