Out of the doldrums

Since Kelly’s wedding I have been lax about the weight loss thing.  I mean, I lost 25 lbs before her wedding, looked killer in the bridesmaid dress (I am mostly joking), and then pretty much was done for a while.  I have maintained the 25 lb loss for about 3 months, but it’s time to get back to work.  I lost a lot of my appetite while in Singapore and subsequently lost about 2 lbs while I was there.  Plus, seeing all those skinny, beautiful asian women was a real wake up call that I am still a fat ass!  Jerry and I have been hitting the gym this week; I have been eating well again.  Results:  about 4 lbs since  pre-Singapore.  :-)  I’m about halfway to my goal if I don’t lose any muscle.

Cars in Singapore

While I was in Singapore for 2 weeks, I was treated to the sight of multiple exotics and high end luxury cars (Bentley, Rolls Royce, etc, etc).  I snapped pictures when I could do so and not feel like a complete dork about it.  Here’s a taste:

I have found my true love… ME!

Yeah, sounds vain doesn’t it?  Bwahahahaha  I went on a business trip to Singapore and stayed in the Hilton.  There was a wall mount magnifying mirror in the bathroom of the hotel room.  I really can’t believe I have lived so long without this luxury.  There I was, plucking away stray hairs on my face (and there are PLENTY of those) with delight!  It was so easy to do - just stand next the vanity, pull this magic mirror towards you and see every single imperfection in perfect clarity.  No more bending over a mirror with poor lighting trying to find all those pesky out-of-place hairs again.  THEN a miracle happened - I flipped the mirror over to discover a normal, 1X mirror on the other side, which I could then use in conjuction with the large vanity mirror to check my beautiful self out in profile and 3/4 views.  Whoa!!!  I have been highly disappointed with the front view of my face for years, and to discover that I look better from other angles really made my day!  I am always so critical of myself and being able to see myself as others typically see me has been a real boost.   I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before I start hating the other angles too, but for right now I’m really happy that I’m not as ugly as I have been thinking.  Yeah, that really does sound vain doesn’t it?  Oh well.

Naturally I determined right then and there that I MUST not live another day without one of these fantastic devices.  I ordered one up the moment I got back home, and I installed it in my bathroom a couple of days ago. Man, it just looks so sexy on the wall - I am sooo in love with that mirror!
